This session provides a deep dive into how the National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) and its cooperative contracting arm, NASPO ValuePoint. Learn how NVP can assist the NASFA Administrators and the professionals who manage the wide variety of State-owned facilities. We will include with a brief overview of NASPO’s mission and how the Lead State Model™ that ensures every contract is competitively solicited and transparent. We will also highlight how specific portfolios are relevant to NASFA members to bridge the gap between facility management and procurement.

Speaker Bio
Joel Atkinson is a Cooperative Portfolio Manager at NASPO ValuePoint. Prior to joining the team, Joel spent 30 years working with the State of Florida, including a role as the Procurement Officer for the Department of Children and Families, developing procurements to obtain services for customers in the Child Welfare system. He also worked as a Purchasing Analyst Supervisor, handling numerous complex procurements and managing a team of procurement staff. Joel graduated from the University of Florida with Bachelor of Arts degree.
Tia Corbett is a Senior Cooperative Portfolio Manager at NASPO ValuePoint, overseeing procurement development and contract management for NASPO ValuePoint’s contract portfolios. Tia provides support for Medicaid Enterprise Systems, Facilities MRO, Inmate Communications, Information Security Services, eProcurement Solutions, and Electronic Monitoring portfolios. Tia’s extensive procurement experience comes from the State of Montana, where she worked for state government for fifteen years, ten of which focused on procurement in the State Central Procurement Office.
